Jeff's Big Boat Adventure

Created by brian boyd 10 years ago
Our family lived two houses away from Jeff's family, from about the time Jeff was 5 or 6 years old. Jeff was one of those kids who was always a delight to watch and pleasing to have around. From time to time in the early years, our son babysat Jeff and his sister Angela. We missed all of them when Jeff's dad took an assignment in Florida for a few years, and when they returned, little Jeff had been replaced by a big strapping young man. But Big Jeff still had Little Jeff's grin, it flashed like a neon sign. Jeff the young man went to university, and soon, he graduated, and continued at university. But education and study were not his only commitments. He regularly made time for fun and adventure. A few years ago, he and two friends decided on a boating adventure, so knowing only a few basics of boating (eg, it should be a great way to meet young ladies), the three pooled their resources and purchased a cruiser, about 25 feet long. Wow, Jeff and his friends weren't afraid to jump into the deep end of the pool! So with help from here and there, they all did some work on their boat, engaged in some minor mishaps, and learned enough about the economics of boating to dispose of their craft a year or two later. And surely they did find it was a great way to meet young ladies! We remember the boat adventure as being Jeff's style... if it sounds good, let's try it! We can learn through the experience and if what we learn is good, we stay with it, if not so good, we move on! We will always remember Jeff as an enthusiast for and at everything he tried. And all of our family will miss him. Brian and Denise Boyd and Family
